Power of Love ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-06-10 - 22:56:43

So  what do we think about Mr . Tim Kenealey having entirely forgiven his wife Zoe who , it's been proved , took out a £4,5000  loan which she paid most of to a neighbour in the belief that he  was , or was in a position to hire  a 'hitman'  to murder her husband , upon which she expected to gain £30,000 in life-insurance  ?
She's been sentenced to seven years so will be out in at least three and a half , and he maintains that his wife is so loveable , was suffering from depression and never seriously wanted him dead .
So is this a beautiful , inspirational parable of loving forgiveness , or is he sadly , naively ' in denial ' ?
Certainly he , Mr. Kenealey , seems a thoroughly decent bloke , and there's no known suggestion of his having treated his wife  abusively ; When , as planned , he welcomes her back home , how can he be sure that she'll not try anything like that again ?
There was some vague plan of staging a car accident , Mi6 style , but the neighbour kept and spent the £4,000 .
In the end of course this is a private matter between two adults , nothing to do with the rest of us , except that it's reported in the news so we have the right to an opinion .
Could you forgive anyone who'd paid thousands of pounds to try to get you killed ?
Maybe Zoe Kenealey was confusedly depressed , deludedly enacting an elaborately bizarre 'cry for help' .
However the verdict was that although she may have been depressed she knew exactly what she was doing .
It's no ones place to try to impose between a commitedly married couple , and I feel humbled by Tim Kenealey's extraordinairily generous , unconditional forgiveness : I just hope that this can somehow end happily for them , in which case a more poignant testament to the power of love and forgiveness would seem  hard to find .
