'I Am Legend' , films , movies , tv etc . .

I  watched ' I am Legend ' , which is not too bad , and  I like Will Smith though I'd say it's not as good as ' I , Robot '  or ' Independence Day ' ; Not enough time for , or attention to character and plot development , and the special effects and action sequences are adequately workmanlike , nothing I've not seen similar to before .
His  unhingement through isolation  is'nt  entirely dissimilar to , though not at all as convincing as that of Tom Hank's character in ' Cast Away ' .
The infected human 'zombies' all look the same and are all male bar one .
With their bulging eye sockets , claws and elephantine roars , and one-dimensional 'killing machine' persona's , though I certainly would'nt want to get ' up close and personal ' with them  ,  I had that 'seen it all before' , 'deja-vu' feeling ; Think  the subterranean creatures in ' The Descent ' , for example .
It's quite watchable which is more than can be said for tonights , part 1 of the itv 'flooding' drama , which is so influenced by , though not remotely as good as the hollywood movie ' The Day after Tomorrow ' .
British television , and British film-makers just can't come close to matching Hollywood for exciting , action , 'blockbuster' tv drama's or movies .
The makers of tonights tv thing , continued tomorrow , it would seem thought that cgi effects + constant , generic 'thriller movie' type music , + a little lamely acted human/love interest , + loads of ideas stolen from 'The Day after Tomorrow' would equal something special .
Apart from the 'Bond movies , to whatever extent they are British , can you name one truly , suspensefully thrilling action/horror/thriller  blockbuster movie , or tv drama , that's been British , made over the last 20 years ?
Though as I've said I used to like some of the suspenseful itv drama's before Michael Grade took over .
Thinking of movies , when I was a child we did'nt always have a tv , and there was much classroom talk of old 'horror' movies on tv .
One boy in my class claimed that he was the  boy who appeared near the beginning of one of the Christopher Lee : Dracula 'hammer horror' films , which , going by his age then and when the film  was made was impossible .
On FM radio you used to sometimes be able to get a 'bounce-back' UHF tv signal , and I remember once lying in bed listening to part of a fuzzy impression of the sound of the 1931 , Bela Lugosi Dracula film that was being broadcast on itv .
And , when we had a black and white rented television , once sneaking downstairs after my parents had gone to bed to very quietly watch one of the Christopher Lee Dracula films . Which certainly did me no harm !
