To console myself from my first bet of the flat-racing season having been beaten in a photo-finish I treated myself to the 'I am Legend' dvd , which I was quite enjoying the first 20 minutes of until a frantic call from dear Jo ' , who lives a few doors away , my Mum & I went round and she did'nt seem as distressed as she'd sounded , we stayed for a while and , once she'd got into bed in her daytime clothes  she was in  good form .
She's 92 and  sleeps a lot , but when she's alert and in good humour she can be very  entertaining  company , with a long lifetime's experiences to draw upon .
Her memory is not what it was , and she can be  rude , quite fierce on occasions , but somehow it's easy to forgive that .
She is 'well brought up' , and will always say lavatory , never toilet .
As I presume  will the london-based 'throne rangers' who I was  reading about today , the immensely wealthy and privileged young ladies obsessed with Princes Harry and William , and , allegedly , with snorting lines of cocaine from nightclub lavatory lids  .
Feeling that there's nothing better for them to do they wait for text-messages informing them of which 'exclusive' london nightclub that either or both Princes are at , before setting off there in the hope of 'bagging a prince' .
It makes no difference to them that both Princes appear to be in commited relationships .
When William and Kate temporarily ended their union he pranced onto the dance floor shouting ' I'm free . . . I just want to have fun ' : So said an observer : ' He did'nt look fantastic . He was wearing brown corduroy trousers and his thinning hair was plastered with sweat . But within seconds all these amazing looking girls just surrounded him . . . ' .
Even if he had'nt washed for a month and was dressed in rags they'd still grovel round him .
It seems that the Princes themselves understandably enjoy the attention and like to flirt , but take it no further than that .
But the 'upper class' spoilt brat snob girls who pursue the Prince's reportedly hate not just the decent 'working class' but also the 'middle class' and 'noveau riche' .
And coldly or rudely 'freeze out' anyone not from their  privileged , 'idle rich' background .
And think nothing of paying £300 + per  drink at nightclubs who keep out the 'riff raff' , i.e you , me , and nearly everyone else .
I do'nt , in the slightest , hate the rich and / or privileged per se , but I do quite severely  resent if they think they are so damn good just because they  have money and 'double barrelled' names , regardless of the content of their characters , and if they view the rest of us as 'untouchables' .
