In yesterday's paper , the most simultaneously tragic and hilarious quote I've ever read , from a 16 year old girl living in Bridgend  : " Kids round here been drinking , smoking dope , taking ecstacy and having sex since they were 13 or 14 . By the time they reach my age they've done everything . They get bored and they think killing themselves will be exciting . "
Do they lack the intellect to discern that death , as least so far as our physical lives are concerned is soooooo  100 % Final  ?
Are they so devoid of any spiritual or religious  sense that  they  take life so casually , or is it more a case of , in their own way , their believing in a 'better place' that we ascend to upon death ?
That any healthy young person can feel like that is frightening , and as we know 17 young people have successfully hung themselves in that town last year and this year , and others have attempted to .
And I do'nt think that any of them were desparately poor : They probably all had mobile 'phones , games consoles , pc's etc .
I thought that Wales , Scotland and Ireland were supposed to be on the whole more religious societies than is England .

Last night I watched Saw 2 , which I must admit that I enjoyed , more than #1 ; It's twistedly suspenseful with some nice twists , and real-seeming enough to get involved in without ever completely forgetting  it's mere entertainment .
I'm considering signing up to lovefilm.co.uk , for a two week free trial then £9.99 a month to rent unlimited dvd's  from them , one at a time , sent by 1st class post , with a pre-paid 1st class envelope to return it in .
I might soon run out of ones I wanted to borrow , though at least it can be cancelled at any time .
I saw something on the local news about a 'book swap' event , where one can go to exchange read books for unread ones , for no charge : It's a promotion to get people reading more , which seems a really excellent idea .
