Cool . . . - ? ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-29 - 22:45:04

Amy Winehouse is reportedly set to launch a range of clothes and cosmetics named after her .
I love her album but , what a disasterously awful role model this hard-drug addicted , heavy drinking and smoking , self-harming  woman is .
I used to feel sad for her but now I just find her exasperating  . . . She did seem  much better at the 'brit' awards than she'd reportedly been during her aborted tour  -
I so hope that she's  permanantly given up the 'class a' drugs , though I saw a report saying that she's back on them but even if she's not , a large part of her appeal to the impressionable young is her 'anti-establishment' , do'nt give a damn , 'I'll do what I want and get away with it' image , so that even if she secretly had miraculously become a 'clean living'  model citizen  she'd have irresistable financial incentives to pretend otherwise .
Her hitching up her skirt whilst performing at the 'brits' was just embarrassing ,  as opposed to cool or sexy .
Kate Moss's 'Class A' illegal drug use , and her affair with the NME's sexiest man of 2006 and coolest icon of 2008 , the obnoxious drug addict pete doherty did her career nothing but good .
There's nothing wrong with being 'anti-establishment' , and anyone determined to privately drastically shorten their life by using 'hard-drugs' arguably should perhaps  have the right to but the talented , when she makes an effort to be  Amy Winehouse and the  so far as I can tell untalented prat doherty Are role-models to many , which is dismaying to say the least .

Hooray For Harry !

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-29 - 22:04:01

Eleven pages in today's 'Mail , and no doubt something similar in many other papers about Prince Harry in Afghanistan . .
Yes it's admirable of him to want to take that risk and a shame that USA and Australian media outlets have caused his having to leave there by breaking a 'gentlemans agreement' press embargo .
But some of the coverage almost implies that he is 'fighting the good fight' virtually single-handedly .
All because he's the son of Prince Charles  . . . though some people do'nt think so , and of the late Princess Diana and because he's young , okay looking and has a royal title .
Though I dislike George Galloway I agree with him that all this 'hero prince' coverage is glamourising an ongoing futile , unwinnable 'war' .
Yes ! Welcome to the  official  'We adore our hero Prince' weblog ; leave all your starstruck , fawning  tributes  here . .
Hoorah , Hoorah for Harry , England , and Saint George Bush !  !

counselling

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-29 - 00:16:06

I watched tonights C4 documentary ' The girls who were found alive ' , about two ten year old girls who were abducted by a  paedophile - at liberty to offend again following his prison sentence for having abducted an eleven year old girl -  in 1999 , and held and abused in his council flat until being rescued four days later .
Having been liberated from that horrible experience , and feeling  delighted  to be back home , it was decreed that both girls needed counselling .
They both absolutely hated their counselling sessions , which one of them , Lisa , was 'let off' of having to continue with after four months , whilst the parents of the other girl , Charlene , well-meaningly insisted that she continued with  , for eighteen months .
They both wanted just to be allowed to get on with their lives , and not to keep being reminded of  their nasty experience .
Their friendship suffered for a while because , after Lisa's having been allowed to discontinue her counselling she seemed to have  largely 'got over' her ordeal , whilst  Charlene , forced to continue having  counselling which was keeping her ordeal alive in her mind , resented Lisa for having seemingly 'got over' it , which she could'nt because of her ongoing 'counselling' .
Interviewed together  at the end of the programme , they both said they'd wanted to appear in it to demonstrate that sexual abuse of children , as horrible and deplorable as it certainly is , does'nt always ruin the rest of the lives of the victims .
Although presumably there's a difference between four days at the mercy of a previously unknown abductor , and years of abuse at the hands of family members , or 'care home' staff .
Counselling can  certainly be  invaluable , providing it's  the choice of the person undergoing it  : No one , of any age , should be forced to have counselling or psychotherapy , which can be immensely helpful but it  can also be very damaging , to be encouraged to keep revisiting  everything awful that's  happened in ones life .

caning

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-28 - 12:49:09

A new report saying that up to two thirds of schoolteachers are regularly verbally and sometimes physically attacked by some of  their  pupils , sometimes in extremely nastily sadistic ways .
A few people on Victoria's 5live phone-in this morning called for a return to corporal punishment , caning , in schools .
Workmen renovating the Haut de Garenne former childrens home in Jersey , in 2003 , discovered amongst other things five vicious looking canes .
I'm aware of the arguments in favour of corporal punishment , which for the forseeable future is'nt going to re-introduced in the UK and thank goodness for that : Power-crazed adults with dubious motives given carte blanche to ritually inflict pain and humiliation on children and teenagers : No Thank You !
Some people find the thought of caning etc. a massive turn-on , as shown by the unfolding evidence of that childrens home in Jersey having been run by evil sadistic paedophiles , male and female .
Was there not one staff member  with a normal human conscience , who reported the routine torture and rape of vulnerable children there ?
Probably not because they probably only recruited and employed  other sadistic paedophiles , or , if anyone did report it , that probably was'nt acted on , not only due to the top people on the island wanting to maintain its clean , family friendly holiday resort image , but also to some of them being corrupt in other ways too .
And I do'nt doubt that a few 'highly placed' people in this country and others are paedophiles .
So , back to schoolchildren being allowed to get away with being sadistic to their teachers , who may face legal action , and/or threats from parents if they so much as restrain , or escort out of the classroom , or even touch any of their pupils . . .
There's a growing problem of moronic 'underclass' types replicating themselves by breeding , bringing up children who have no respect or decent moral values , and who know they can get away with almost anything .
I do'nt favour corporal punishment , but if the only action schools can take against persistently disruptively unpleasantly behaved children is to exclude them for a couple of days - when they do'nt want to be at school anyway . . . . .
We can't stop ill-bred folk from replicating themselves - I do'nt mean people who are not financially affluent , I mean stupid , shouting , swearing , smoking , drinking , drug-using fucked-up adults who could'nt give a damn - - -
We can't forcibly sterilise alcoholics , drug addicts , persistent criminals , those who shamefully neglect or abuse their existing children as that just would'nt be politically acceptable , and would certainly contravene human-rights legislation .
So , what do you do , what can we do ?
There are appalling human-rights abuses in some countries , but as for human-rights legislation , and a limp liberal-left ethos in the UK that effectively says that anyone can live here , and no I'm not blaming immigrants for the problems I've written about here , and that children and teenagers can get away with almost anything , no one has the right to restrain them or defend themself  if attacked by them : That needs to change , though there's no signs that it soon will .
Most parents are decent , loving and responsible and most children and teenagers know how to behave properly , though  there's an insidiously  growing number who that can't be said of .
And then to confuse matters further , what about the human rights of parents who have never harmed or neglected any children who social services are allowed to remove their children or new- born babies from  , shrouded in the secrecy of family-courts  ?
I'd rather live in the UK than in many other countries , but there are serious problems here which need to be effectively tackled .

earthquake/cartoon/me/film/racing

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-28 - 00:41:07

I was awoken at about 00-57 this morning by by a weird thudding sound ,  I did'nt really think that anyone else was in the house though checked  anyway , then turned the radio on and from about 1-05 on 5live they were reporting text message reports of an apparent earthquake .
***************
A brilliant cartoon by mac in today's 'mail , combining the 'anti-depressants do'nt work' story with the 'MP's fiddling expenses' one , of several MP's ectstatically rolling around in money and one of them , somewhat resembling the Speaker , exclaiming : " Who needs pills ? I find this stuff always cheers me up "  !  .
*******************
All the possibilities that I was considering , of travelling abroad and being assured at least of some friendly contact with young-ish women whilst there seem not worth bothering with .
Maybe I'm being pragmatically sensible by 'admitting defeat' , hardly ever even venturing to local pubs , and not bothering  with online dating sites . . And/Or maybe I should be 'pro-actively' creatively visualising what I'm wanting , and trying to 'train myself' to be warmly smiling at and greeting everyone I meet . .
****************
I watched the movie 'Shooter' , starring Mark Wahlberg , which is (a) very unpleasantly violent , and (b) it portrays the FBI extremely unflatteringly ;
It's clearly influenced by , though not as good as the 'Bourne' movies , though it's quite watchable , and includes a funny reference to Bono !

Last year I had £120 on the cheltenham gold cup winner Kauto Star , the year before I thought that 'war of attrition' would win it but did'nt have a bet 'cause I was travelling and did'nt know if I'd be able to watch it , and the year before that , the day that my 'partner' of over ten years suddenly abandoned me , I had £10 on the winner , Kicking King .
I do'nt like 'jump' racing , but , like the meat trade , my opting out of it won't change anything .
I plan  to have an each-way bet on whatever is number 15 in this years Grand National .

terrorism/missing child/cat

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-27 - 00:59:02

Despite the video and audio evidence of Mohammed Hamid having established terrorism-training camps in england , and having incited his followers to seek to kill as many british non-muslims as possible , I expect that a lot of the 'in denial' British muslims will choose  to believe that he is an innocent martyr , framed by the 'anti-muslim' british establishment .
*****************
I wonder if the poor little nine year old girl , Shannon ,  missing from West Yorkshire would be further up the news agenda if she'd been living with both of her birth-parents and if they were married , and if they were presentable , articulate , middle-class .
The police are pointedly stressing  that they are ruling no possibility out , i.e including that any of her family , or past of present stepfather's could be involved .
I hope it's not too late for this news item to have a happy ending .
*******************
My adorable ,  murderous cat , Leo , this morning burst through his flap with an injured young bird in his mouth ;
I got him out of this room then he got back in then I took him upstairs and shut him in the spare-room .
When I approached the poor bird it flew , crashing into the window, landed on the floor on its side , blinked three times then died .

disordered moods/do'nt touch

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-25 - 21:56:37

Dr. Paul Keedwell , an expert on mood disorders at London's institute of psychiatry ,  in his book ' how sadness survived' refers to depression as a 'defence mechanism' that has 'adapted in the human species to give us long term benefits' , such as making those suffering with it stronger , tougher , more resilient  .
He seems to probably be referring more to those who have managed to pull themselves out of a bout of depression than to anyone afflicted with it long-term , though that's not entirely clear from the article - in today's 'Mail .
Anyone who can manage to permanantly 'shake off' clinical depression must already have strength of character , and I'm sure that a temporary bout of depression can imbue compassion and understanding towards others struggling with it , but  I can't see how it can make them stronger .
Although anyone cursed with long-term physical or mental pain is forced  to become inured to it to a degree , helping to perspectivise lesser problems  .
But - apart from that a short bout of clinical depression should enable understanding and compassion for others who are depressed - I can think of no positive aspects of depression which at its worst debilitatingly feeds on itself and is soul-destroying .
****************
Elsewhere in the paper a piece about a book called ' Do'nt Touch ! The educational story of a panic ' which includes the findings of a study by researchers from Manchester's Metropolitan University , about  many nurseries and schools having  a policy of staff not being permitted  to have any physical contact with the children  , except in very specific circumstances with another adult witness present .
For fear of being accused of sexual abuse of course , by for example putting a plaster on a child , or helping or comforting an injured or upset child .
How dismayingly absurdly daft , as if anyone in their right mind could possibly attach any sinister connotation to such blatently humanly natural and innocent interaction .
So professional people working with children have to carry on as if there's something shameful and dirty about any physical contact : What sort of a message is that to the children ?
What a twisted society in which some can't tell the difference between natural , appropiate , spontaneous affectionate reassurance  and despicable abuse .

Female vs Male domestic abuse .

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-25 - 01:44:55

On Radio5live  now there's a discussion about female violent domestic abuse of males .
It's said that one in four women , and one in six men become victims of 'domestic abuse' .
I hope those figures comprise only those who have been subjected to serious physical violence or regular nasty verbal / psychological abuse , and not anyone who's ever had an argument with their 'partner'  !
And it's not clear if these figures include gay or lesbian relationships .
This is a very serious , very real issue , as of course is the sexual abuse of children by adults , though I wonder if the figures for that are liable to be artificially inflated by some charities , for financial incentives , for  example by categorising a child having seen either of its parents naked as exposure to sex =  abuse .
Some submissively inclined men may fantisise about being dominated by a woman , as may some submissively inclined women fantisise about being overpowered by a powerful men .
But obviously no one wants to be mutilated , stabbed , have  their ribs broken , etc . . .
Women generally are gentler , and physically weaker than men .
Though it seems that more women than we'd like to imagine do viciously abuse their male  partners ~ maybe because they are psychologically damaged by  having been abused themselves   ,  or even just because they enjoy it , who knows . .
Of course the police normally assume that , in such a situation , the man must be the villain , no matter what . .
It's disturbingly surprising how many men are now  'phoning in to Stephen Nolan on 5live who clearly are  genuinely very  frightened of their wives or partners .
I do'nt doubt that there are more female than male victims of domestic abuse , though there's far more help and support available to female than to male victims , and it does indeed seem that there's more female vs male violent domestic abuse than most of us might think . (And I'm in no whatsoever trivialising or excusing male violence towards women .)
Has this always been so , or , if more women are regularly , violently attacking their male partners . . . . . Why  ?
Perhaps , depressingly , it's another sign of our society having become a nastier , scarier place , though I still cling on to the belief that  most of us are 'okay' .

National DNA Database ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-23 - 22:11:12

Following the sentencing yesterday , separately , of two particularly nasty convicted murderers , who the discovery of their  DNA played a big part in apprehending and convicting , the (UK) police are again calling for a compulsory national dna database , to help to solve serious crimes and to keep the most dangerous criminals off of our streets .
Already , the dna of anyone arrested - and not necessarily put on trial for or found guilty of - recordable offences is routinely taken and kept on record , as is that of witnesses to crimes who supply their dna so the police's forensic investigators can differentiate it from that of the possible culprit .
The police , and some members or our unparalleldly intrusive government want the taking and keeping of dna to also become routine for anyone arrested for non-recordable offences , i.e dropping litter , or driving a little above the speed limit .
The ultimate aim would seem to be that all new born babies and all legal UK citizens would be compelled to provide their dna samples , to be kept on a database for the rest of their lives and beyond .
Which would make no difference re . illegal immigrants in our country  , which seems to have largely lost control of our borders in the last few years .
And whether all  legal foreign visitors  to our country would have to provide a dna swab upon entry is open to question , though in our present political climate that seems doubtful .
Would I mind a sample of my dna being held on a national database ? -
Well since I've done nothing awful and have no plans to  I'd say no I'd not mind , if I can be 100% convinced that it's a 100% infallible , un-tamperable system which would be used only in the investigation of serious , nasty crimes .
There's a potential concern that if , in decades to come , many areas of Britain were to have descended into chaotic lawlessness resulting in an extremist party who do'nt respect human rights getting enough votes to be able to form a government ,  they  might somehow abuse their access to a dna database .
Would you mind if a sample of your dna were to be permanantly held on record by our government / police ?
Undoubtedly such a policy would help to convict more dangerous criminals .
Though proof that someone had been in contact with a victim , or been at the scene of a crime of course does'nt necessarily prove their guilt of it .
Do we need to all  be forced to carry - and personally pay for - identity cards ,  and be on a dna database ?
I'm not completely sufficiently informed , or yet decided  but please , I'm really interested , what is your stance on this issue ?
- Please post any further replies to this post in the 'armchair revolutionaries ' group , of which I'm a member - and anyone can instantly join - which this post also appears in - thanks . . .

gascoigne/prostitution/cat

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-22 - 23:54:06

I read today that Paul Gascoigne ( 'gazza' to those who can cope only with two syllables at a time ) was said to have been :
" . . walking around the hotel with three battery-operated plastic parrots under his arms , ordering plates of raw liver - saying it's 'good for the blood ' . . . '  "
I doubt that many people would be very concerned about him if he had'nt been a talented footballer , unless he was some great 'intellectual' , in which case he'd be lionised as a  wonderfully loveable eccentric 'character ' .
Someone who if a 'nobody' would be regarded as a pathetic p*sshead pesterance is , because he was once a star  of that great religion called football ,  considered worthy of much agonised  concern .
*****************
Following the guilty verdict in the Ipswich murder  trial there's been  media talk of the wrongs or rights of prostitution , which , except for wealthy men who can afford expensive  , 'classy'  escorts  seems generally a tacky , sordid , miserable business .
I have never told anyone this before : One hot summer afternoon a few years ago , when living in Norwich I found a card and impulsively 'phoned then visited a 'sex-worker' , a young lady who told me that she was an ex-drug addict , whose violent ex-boyfriend had got her into prostituting herself . .
The door of the room in her council flat that we were in had been removed , and her  mother and  children were in the kitchen .
In case of trouble she kept a baseball bat under the bed .
Under the circumstances , and her having said that (obviously) she did that just for the money I gave up trying  and we aborted the sex - thing , I gave her £30 , and if anyone was exploited it was'nt her .
That was my only , ever experience of having tried prostitution ; As I left she said let her know if I ever needed her again : Needless to say I did'nt , and , presumably unlike most men who've  'used'  sex-workers , for such an encounter to be successful  I  need to know I'm wanted .

Leo (cat) is virtually completely better : I'm trying to keep him in during nights for the time being ;  he's now still joyously leaping about out there , and I hope to be able to get him in soon , before I go to bed .

alcohol legislation

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-22 - 00:59:58

I wonder if we should adopt a scandinavian-inspired  system of pricing alcoholic drinks , i.e that  2-3 % beers/ciders/alcopops  should be cheap , 3-5% mid-price ,  above 5% expensive , and above 6% very expensive .
I'm not including wine or other drinks because , so far as I can tell , they are not favoured by yobbo  troublemakers .
I find it very hard to believe that supermarkets really do sell beers at a loss to themselves - why would they ?
And as a non-hooligan drinker I'd resent being forced  to boost supermarket's profits by having to pay more for my 4% lager , and for the cheap 2% variety that I dilute it with .
Victoria Darbishire , on her R5live programme this morning admitted that she does'nt know how many alcoholic units she consumes each week , and that  maybe when she's 55 she'll wake up one morning to discover that she's turned yellow ; a symptom of liver cirrhosis .
I think that applies to many non-troublemaking drinkers .
Am I concerned about my alcohol-intake ?   -   Yes  , and No  . . .
As I've said my liver was ok 13 months ago , and  I never get really  drunk , but I probably do consume about 2 - 3 or more , more than the recommended maximum intake of units every week .
I do'nt smoke , do'nt use illegal drugs , am not overweight and do get some exercise .
And I only drink from early-evenings onwards but , yes I definitely should cut it down , no it's not easy , and , whilst in some ways I do'nt care when I die  I do'nt want to be prolongedly disabled or ill , or suffering through lack of the alcohol that my body is so accustomed  to every evening .
At least Kylie Minogue was dignified and sober at last nights 'brit awards' .

Paul McCartney , etc . .

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-20 - 23:56:40

I enjoyed watching the 'Brit Awards programme : It was great . . and No rap-crap !
I know I've said cheeky things re. Sir Paul McCartney , but , all deserved credit to him : And even if whatever are Heather's  allegations against him , that she's apparently going to be paid to never reveal  , are true she'd be wise to never voice them in public in any case because hardly anyone would believe her , because she's a national scapegoat-figure and he's a wonderfully talented 'living legend' , and still a great musical performer , with an astounding back-catalogue to choose from .
No doubt someone will write a deeply unflattering book about him after his death .
Will he still be writing and performing in five years when he'll be 70 ?
It seems extraordinairy that he , and the rolling stones are still doing that in their 60's , and for as long as they're well enough to competently keep that going , why not !
And Amy Winehouse seems so much healthier and 'together' than she was a few weeks ago - Let's hope that'll continue , including after whenever her blakey incarcerated husband is released .
**********************
Leo (cat) remains much better that he was , though still not entirely well , which we hope that he will be after his 5 day course of penicillin tablets , which started today .

Bridgend , Wales , Teen Suicide Cult ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-19 - 23:53:32

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on re. the ongoing teen -suicides in Bridgend , Wales ?
I saw someone on the news earlier blaming the media - for having reported it - Oh , right , yeah , 'shoot the messenger' . .
Something disturbing is going on there , which , if fiction would have been worthy of an 'X-Files' double-episode . .
Is Bridgend a depressingly awful place to live in  , or is this an internet-inspired 'copycat' phenomenom , or ,          .  .  .
Weird and Disturbing - does anyone have any theories ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-19 - 22:43:54

Leo (cat) has eaten some - as the vet suggested - chicken or white fish with rice , without being sick again , and though he's still not entirely himself he's so much better than he was last night , and since before he went to the vet this morning .
Against my better judgement I let him out earlier - he was only out for about 45 minutes but I was despairingly ' in a state ' and unforgiving of myself , until he returned , because I thought that my having acceded to his pleading to be let out whilst he's unwell might have been a terrible , irreversibly fateful error .
I tend to get into 'states' , think the worst , and unforgivingly castigate myself - usually not often , and maybe not at all for weeks or months , depending on what's happening - which is - nature or nurture ?
- A bit of both I think : My Dad used to get into such 'states' during my childhood .

Re. what else I wrote of , I  know  I was exaggerating  'cause of how I  was feeling   though there was some substance to what I was saying which I'll learn from .

I still believe , though I understand why many do'nt , that the deaths of Diana and Dodi were  a professional 'hit' made to resemble an accident , but , poor old Mr Fayed  ,  who  just can't  'get' that he is the greatest gift to everyone who believes or who wants others to belive that it was a mere accident and that the 'conspiracy theorists' and their theories are bonkers .
As for his calling Camilla a crocodile - Has he been reading David Icke , who 'revealed' in his book 'the greatest secret' that most of our royal family , as well as numerous other prominent people across the planet are 'shapeshifting' reptiles , I wonder !
David Icke really is barmy , and Mr Fayed seems a sad , rather unhinged elderly man who has built a fantasy upon the notorious piece in the early editions of the Sunday mirror , the day of the crash , which alleged that Prince Philip had been unpleasantly ranting against Dodi , and suggesting  that he  thought it was 'time to settle-up' .
When the inquest began I thought there was a ghost of a chance of it ending in an open verdict but not now , thanks to Fayed and his lawyers sabotaging that by obsessing on the unproven 'prince philip' fantasy , rather than sticking to known highly suspicious facts .

At number 27 in the 50 Best Gadgets list in yesterday's Independent : The Sony Bravia KDL series 40" lcd tv , from  £2,085 .
On play.com , the Sony Bravia KDL series 37" lcd tv : £549.99 , free delivery .
I find the picture a bit small on my 32" set for dvd movies with gaps at the top and bottom of the screen , and , as I have no plans to travel abroad this year , that play.com offer is  tempting , but no , I can't really justify it .

Following what I wrote here on friday , about Leo's late-night capture of a bird , he waited 'til I went to bed then brought the huge pigeon in through his cat-flap , leaving the poor dead thing splayed out in the middle of the living-room carpet , feathers everywhere .
******************
An article in yesterday's 'Mail about a brother and sister , In Scotland , who share the same mother but not the same father and were separated as very young children , who met again in their 20's and fell in love , initially not knowing that they were related : She was already married : They were forcibly separated for nine months whilst  on bail charged with unlawful intercourse with each other  given their familial relationship , and they've been told that if that happens again they'll both be sent to prison .
They say they want to live together just as close friends .
A bit of a 'moral maze'  and I sympathise with her discarded husband , though if they ensure that there's no chance of her becoming pregnant by him I really do'nt care , they love one another , and there's so many  much more worrying things happening in our society .
The article says that , according to psychologists the " natural repulsion " that brothers and sisters often feel for each other is natures way of protecting against birth defects caused by incest :
An interesting thought , though having been an 'only child' myself I would not know .

'clockwork orange' britain ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2008-02-16 - 00:37:11

So what do we all think is the cause of  and solution to the problem of so many men being unprovokedly viciously attacked by gangs of young men , sometimes including young women , who are usually drunk and/or 'on drugs' , in the UK  ?
As I've said before I do'nt for one second believe that supermarkets are at all to blame .
I blame our government for their 'marxist' , ' politically correct  ' agenda which dictates that violent criminals are somehow excused by being deemed to be  victims of all the rest of us .
Partly . It's  complicated , but  such attackers need to learn that our society will in no way tolerate their behaviour , and that their choosing to become drunk or 'stoned' is no excuse .
I'm lucky in that there's little chance of such attacks occuring where I live , but in plenty of our towns and cities one has to think twice before confronting anyone behaving obnoxiously  , or even about going out at all .
My cat is currently ripping up a poor bird just outside his cat-flap .
Which is 'in his nature' , though I think he knows  that he's not allowed to bring his conquests into the house .
If it's in the nature of a terrifyingly significant minority or our countrymen to attack , stab , beat up , murder any of their fellow-citizens who have the temerity to challenge their swaggering anti-socialness - or who just happen to be out and about rather than cowering at home - then God help us if we do'nt do something to put a stop to that .
What do you suggest ?
