HiV/Aids:The Truth ?

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2007-10-02 - 11:45:57

For at least 18 years I've believed that aids/hiv , apart from a few cases caused by infected needles , infected blood supplies , or babies of infected mothers tragically being born with the virus is spread virtually exclusively by back-passage intercourse practised mainly by gay men ,
and that when women are said to have contracted the virus through heterosexual sex what is meant by that is that they have been anally penetrated by bisexual men , or by  men from countries where that form of sex is often used in place of contraception .
And consequently that when men  contract Aids from sex with women it is through anally penetrating women who have contracted it in that way .
It does'nt affect me personally because for whatever reasons I am celibate but I heard long ago , and still believe that it is very difficult to pass on HiV through penile-vaginal intercourse .
And condoms used by any man practising anal penetration are fine except that if they have a lot of sex , sooner or later one of the condoms is statistically likely to split during the act .
And it's seemed obvious to me for a long time that the official campaign that we are or were all equally at risk was heavily influenced by the gay male 'lobby' striving to avoid stigmatisation of gay men .
Which perversely suited  Catholic's and parents who get  hysterical at the thought of their teenage offspring conducting sexual experiments who , following the ludicrous government campaign 20 years ago could sanctimoniously dictate  that all except married couples should be celibate  .
Sorry if anyone's offended by any of the terms I've used but I think that 'Aids' , how it can be contracted or avoided and medical and societal responses to it are very legitimate themes for serious  discussion and debate .
My points are that the act which can spread HiV/Aids is not morally wrong but is risky , we are seldom if ever given entirely honest  official information about how to contract and avoid Aids and that sensible countries screen would-be immigrants for various communicable diseases .
