Frank Sinatra

by SloshedAndVexed @ 2007-08-03 - 21:51:17

At 'choices' in lowestoft the other day I bought 10 suposedly previously used dvd's for £20 , all in perfect condition and most still sealed ; The movies 'Firewall' : Watchable . Once . Average and predictable . And 'Runaway Jury' : Tried it , did'nt like it , maybe did'nt give it long enough but am not hopeful of enjoying it . And 'old favourites' 'Thelma and Louise' , 'Blow Out' , 'A walk in the clouds' , and a disc of 2 1940's Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes superior 'b-movies' .
And : 'best of' 'one foot in the grave' : I remember at least 2 funny ones but tried watching 2 others on the disc and found them 100% not funny .
And : American great railway journey's : Tried one : Was looking forward to stunning scenery but it seemed to be  a long advert for Amtrak .
And a ballet one , mainly for my Mum , and : Frank Sinatra(with buddy rich) : Concert for the America's - From 1981 or '2 I think , which I'm watching now , and , hardly a 'fan' of his but it's just what I'm in the mood for . . .
And , Warning - - This is Vulgar - - I once read that Sinatra once got his chauffer to drive him to the grave of someone recently deceased who'd once offended him , where he p*s**d on the grave , which , inspired me to write , in a former 'blog , that I was looking forward to doing that upon the grave of my ex-partner's stepfather , when he died : Of course I'd do no such thing , but writing that may have at least momentarily made me feel slightly better at the time .
I'll donate unwanted items to next weeks Southwold Catholic Fete : I've never been , never will be a Catholic and . . . 'do'nt get me started ! ' . . .  there's much that I could say about Catholicism but it's in recognition of my Father's conversion 6 months before he died . And the local priest (who's in some way related to Princess Diana I believe) and other local Catholics who I've met do seem to be nice people .

trip

Went on the friday shopping coach to Norwich today ; it had'nt crossed my mind to buy any books until I stumbled upon a shop that has a wide selection of books all for £2 , so I bought Adam Ant's autobiography and "the assassination of princess diana" by noel botham , then discovered another cheap bookshop having a sale and bought U2 by U2 (rrp £30) for £3.99 , and 'The Story of Film' by Mark Cousins for 2.99.
I did not see anyone I know , whether or not I'd want to and in future I'll go there when I feel like it ; Sure there are a few people who I'd not like to see but obviously I do'nt have to speak to them if I do see them  and I doubt if even they would want me to not go there because of any possibility of seeing them .
